About Me

“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, it goes to his head.  If you talk to him in his own language, it goes to his heart.”

– Nelson Mandela

Hi, I’m Katarina.  I’m originally from Zilina, situated in northern Slovakia, although have lived in Lancashire, UK for over eight years now.  Since graduating from Grammar School back home, I have travelled, studied and worked across Europe and North America, keen to put the years of English lessons to some use.  At eighteen years old and from a very different culture, it’s fair to say this was indeed a baptism of fire… but an exciting one nonetheless. I successfully completed my studies in Rochdale and returned to Bratislava to further my education in Business & Marketing, at the University of Economics, gaining a Masters degree in 2007, following five years study.

I returned to England shortly thereafter, such was my love of the place, and studied for the DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting).  Since then, I have provided Interpretation and Translation services for Slovak and Czech languages to many clients in the Public and Private sector across the UK, including various police forces, the NHS, charities, courts and tribunals, job centres, high schools and primary schools, social work… and so on.

Whilst I’m based in the North West, primarily operating in Lancashire, Yorkshire and Greater Manchester, I provide services up and down the country.  I absolutely love what I do, and take a great deal of pride in the quality of my work.  I offer my clients absolute reliability, promptness, flexibility and confidentiality.  Feel free to drop me a line if you think I can help with any of your projects!
